The British Embassy in Tirana has reacted regarding the tensions during the last sessions of the Assembly, where parliamentary life has not continued normally and the opposition has filled the hall with smoke from flares.
Through a post on social networks, the British diplomatic headquarters asks the parties to work together to ensure that parliament acts in the interests of citizens.
"The British Embassy in Tirana expresses its concern regarding the latest developments in the Parliament of Albania. A functioning parliament and constructive dialogue between elected representatives are essential to guarantee legislation and services effectively. We call on the majority and the opposition to work together to ensure that parliament can exercise its oversight role and act in the interest of all citizens," the British embassy's message reads.
