The Democrats will take to the streets again on February 8, called by Sali Berisha in a national protest, following the testimony of the former number two of the Government, Arben Ahmetaj. "All the details and the time of the protest will be announced very soon. But Saturday is the day when Albanians descend on Tirana and Tirana descends on the squares and streets," said Berisha.
Unlike other times where the Democrats sought support for causes such as a technical government or free elections, this time Berisha claimed that the rally was called after Arben Ahmetaj's testimony on Syri TV, who accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of cannabizing the country and described him as the head of a criminal organization.
"Arben Ahmetaj proved to the Albanians once again that Edi Rama is not the prime minister, but the boss, the godfather, the head of a genuine criminal organization. And wherever he goes, he goes and travels not as the prime minister of Albania, but as the head of a criminal organization, the most dangerous in the history of this country, the region and Europe. Arben Ahmetaj, once again yesterday stripped Edi Rama naked as the architect of the greatest crime that may have occurred in the history of the country, the cannabization of Albania."
Ahmetaj's story, according to Berisha, showed a prime minister who lives in unbridled luxury, another reason why he says that we should protest. "The unbridled life of luxury that Edi Rama, as a ruthless tyrant towards Albanians, led himself and his family. [...] Of course, when he opens a bottle of 33 thousand euros, when he goes to detoxification centers for 10 thousand euros a week as a person with his wife, when he spends 20 million euros on a taxi plane, when he buys a vase for 5 million euros as if he were a sheikh or a sultan."
The opposition leader claimed that the head of government's unbridled luxury is affecting the impoverishment of Albanians and calls Rama heartless. (A2 Televizion)
