The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted to the tragedy in North Macedonia, where 59 young people lost their lives and 155 others were injured as a result of a fire in a discotheque. In a post on social media, the leader of the DP expresses his and the Democratic Party's condolences to the families of the victims, as well as solidarity with the authorities of North Macedonia.
"Friends, a serious tragedy has occurred in a friendly country. In a discotheque in the city of Kocani, North Macedonia, 59 young people, aged 14-25, tragically lost their lives in a fire, while 155 others suffered burns of varying degrees and carbon monoxide poisoning. Among them, 18 are in serious condition. On this occasion, I express my deepest condolences and those of the Democratic Party to the families of the victims, as well as our solidarity with the local and central authorities of North Macedonia. We also pray for a speedy and full recovery for those injured in this terrible tragedy," Berisha wrote.
"Djathtas 1912" also reacted to the tragedy, expressing condolences to the families of the victims.
"Great pain from this morning's sad news of the many victims in last night's tragic fire at a nightclub in Kocani, North Macedonia. The loss of so many young lives is a grave tragedy for the entire community. Our most sincere condolences go to the families and relatives of the victims, while we pray for a speedy recovery for the injured. In these difficult moments, our thoughts and hearts are with you."
