The Elbasan Prosecutor's Office has launched investigations regarding the Democratic Party's denunciation of vote manipulation through the so-called "Bulgarian train" in the village of Pekisht.
The prosecution's response, obtained by A2 CNN, against the Democratic Party states that "criminal proceedings have been registered for the criminal offense of falsifying electoral material and election results, as provided for in Article 326 of the Criminal Code."
According to the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office, this proceeding is currently in the investigation phase.
This decision by the Elbasan prosecutor's office came after the denunciation of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, and the democratic candidate, Bledi Himçi, that some suspected election materials were found in a bar in the village of Pekisht.
In this premises, several fake ballots and a sum of money were seized in the possession of the headman of the village of Pekisht, Dervish Beqiri, who was also an observer for the Socialist Party in the May 11 elections. (A2 Televizion)
