Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the revitalization activity of "Mother Teresa Square". According to him, the most special idea is that of a work in the middle of the square with the open hands of Mother Teresa, the same project as the hands in Venice, but according to the head of government, several times larger.
"We have thought of a work similar to that of Venice, we have designed, through architects, the hands of Mother Teresa in the middle of the square here, like the one in Venice, which holds its hands open, but this time larger," said Rama.
The Prime Minister also spoke about a number of projects in process and discussion, including the redevelopment of the Palace of Congresses, for which "an international competition with the best architects in the world" will be held.
"Tirana has now become the place where everything is happening without much fanfare, but which is similar to what happened in New York in the 1930s. With a wide network of world-renowned architects, even with Nobel Prizes in architecture, who are engaged in projects, but mainly in Tirana. In June, we have planned the first edition of the "Bread and Heart" festival, with the motto 'bring me some salt, please', an initiative that these architects also have, the goal is to make it annual. There will be a second part this year, perhaps in Elbasan and with the participation of well-wishers from abroad. There are also several other projects that are on the way. One of them is the project for the requalification of the Palace of Congresses, let's see a revitalized palace," said Rama.
Rama did not forget the mayor Erion Veliaj, arrested for 3 days by SPAK and GJKKO, referring to the work done so far in the capital and the future, as he added that Tirana will become the most extraordinary city in Europe: "This will be the most extraordinary capital of the region and among the most attractive in Europe, I say this with complete conviction.
