Former Albanian President Alfred Moisiu has commented on the shortcomings of the justice reform, comparing it to a “raki” diluted with water. Invited to the show “Off the Record” with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN, Moisiu said that last-minute changes gave politics unnecessary influence.

"They threw water at you the last night before the vote, they changed some articles. With the first version, politics was completely out, but they couldn't stay out. They did some things, gave some powers that were not initially foreseen in the selection of judges and prosecutors. There was a cost and I don't know how that will be fixed."

According to Moisiu, one of the main problems is that after the vetting, there is a lack of continuous control: "We came up with the idea of doing a scan, a vetting, but this does not mean that I, Moisiu, passed the vetting and can sleep. This should be permanent so that they can follow and control them so that they do not make the mistakes of the past. This hurts a lot," Moisiu said on "Off the Record". (A2 Televizion)
