Prime Minister Edi Rama has posted on his Facebook account photos of municipality employees removing sun loungers from public beaches.
"On the Vlora Promenade, another public beach area has been returned to tourists and citizens," Rama wrote on his profile, A2 CNN reports. The operation is part of a nationwide effort to free up public spaces, launched a few days ago.
The Prime Minister also called on those interested to apply for job vacancies in the municipality, due to the massive resignations that came after his own ultimatum.
"I encourage all professionals in Vlora to apply to be part of this effort, by participating in job interviews," Rama wrote.
The day before, in a long meeting with local leaders, the prime minister asked them to dismiss the heads of administrative units and even deputy mayors. He gave the mayors until Monday, but some of them made it clear that they would not comply with this order. (A2 Televizion)
