With the prices offered by the collection points being at the cost of production, citrus farmers in the villages of Lushnja have called on people to come and get them for free, just by picking them from the trees themselves. Tons of citrus fruits have been left on the trees or thrown into the canals.
Citrus farmers in Kurtinë, Lushnja, are being forced to throw lemons and oranges into the canals, as the market price is much lower than the costs of this production.
Tons of citrus fruits are either still on the trees or have been thrown away, writes A2.
The farmers themselves point the finger of responsibility for this situation at the regulator, which, according to them, is the state itself.
In such conditions, farmers are calling on anyone to come pick the citrus fruits that are on the trees and receive them for free. (A2 Televizion)
