Residents of the Afrim i Ri neighborhood have stated that not only will they not go to vote on May 11, but they will not even leave their ballot boxes to go to the polling centers.
According to them, the cause is the lack of infrastructure in this neighborhood, which has 100 families and mainly comes from villages in the Mallakastra area.
Apartments with septic tanks, where rain water overflows and spills into the courtyards of the canals along the main roads, causing diseases, the roads are muddy in winter and dusty in summer, writes A2.
Residents say they have complained to the municipality dozens of times and no one has done anything. Everything, roads, lighting, everyone who had the opportunity, has done it with personal investments.
The residents claimed that they are regular taxpayers, but have not received the services.
"We have been in this situation for 35 years and in these elections, not only are we not voting, but we are not even letting the ballot boxes arrive at the polling stations," say the residents.
The Afrim i Ri neighborhood is only 500 meters from the center of Fier, behind the Fier-Vlora railway tracks. (A2 Televizion)
