The recent cases registered in the Fier region, where a father sexually abused his daughter, as well as another case where the girl, in collaboration with her boyfriend and mother, killed the head of the family, for the president of the Fier Bar Association, Ermal Hamataj, show that institutions and society itself must wake up as soon as possible to prevent and not to judge these cases only after the tragedies occur, writes A2 CNN.
According to the lawyer, the harsher punishments have not had the expected effect, as experience has shown. He appeals for people to give up the concept of "mechanical" marriages, made for social reasons or pressure, and to feel free to love, but also to separate, if relationships become dangerous or harmful.
In addition to serious events with fatal consequences, in the Fier region, cases of domestic violence that end with beatings, threats or various coercions have recently increased significantly, with serious psychological and social consequences.
