In Shkodra, the commemoration of the Days of Remembrance, which symbolize the resistance to communist persecution for 45 years in a row, writes A2 CNN. Near the memorial that commemorates the resistance of those years, the political leader of the Democratic Party in this region, Luçiano Boçi, said that nowadays Albania is led by the same people who were there yesterday.
Members of the association of former political persecutors, who organize the Days of Resistance, stated that Albanian politics in 35 years has left this stratum in oblivion — unrewarded, with an unwritten history and with a democracy that, according to them, has not yet arrived.
In Shkodra, during the years of the monist regime, around 600 people were shot, 3,000 others were imprisoned, while over 1,900 families suffered the most horrific torture. (A2 Televizion)
