The Durrës coast was invaded this weekend by local and foreign vacationers, thus marking the start of the summer season for this year.
Foreigners and locals are satisfied with what the coastal city has to offer, highlighting hospitality and gastronomy as Durrës' strongest points, reports A2 CNN.
For accommodation structures, this beginning of the season comes with high expectations. Hotel and resort managers say that reservations are promising and the impact of Albania's international promotion is being felt more and more.
"This year we started at least a month earlier. We started with Austrian groups who have decided to spend spring in Albania. After we finish with the Austrians, we start with Albania's historical clients, which are the Poles and Czechs who come to Albania regularly every year. And at the end of the season, in October-November, we have Nordic clients who prefer autumn to come to Albania," Blerim Norja, a tourist operator, told A2 CNN.
The warm temperatures have encouraged many citizens to take advantage of the weekend.
With beaches becoming more populated every day and the tourist offer ever expanding, Durrës seems ready to host another busy summer season. (A2 Televizion)
