Every day, dozens of travelers traveling from Gjirokastra to other cities are forced to wait on the streets and sidewalks because there is no bus terminal. There is also no information on schedules or lines, leaving everything to chance.
Wanting to travel from Gjirokastra to other neighboring cities or even further away, without having a private car or using a taxi is quite difficult. This city still does not have a designated place for intercity public transportation.
"For Tepelena. How difficult, very difficult at the moment. There were even taxis, now they don't even allow taxis, nothing here. They would call you here themselves, Tepelena, Tepelena. Tepelena ended, but so did Tirana."
"We are like animals on the streets. It's good today it's sunny, but when it rains. A sick person like me, a disabled person or someone with a small child. Where should they stay? I don't know how far behind we are."
"An agency needs to be created here. For Përmet, Gjirokastra. We are from Përmet, we are forced to stay on our feet."
Even tourists have encountered this difficulty when they want to visit Përmet, Tepelena, or Berat. Even if you're lucky enough to find the right place to wait for the scheduled times, that's about it.
"It would be much easier if there was a terminal. I'm going to Përmet."
The terminal has already been promised by the municipality several times, but so far there has been nothing concrete. (A2 Televizion)
