Gianni De Biasi has decided to end his career as coach of the Azerbaijan National Team, ending a three-year tenure.
"I completed the journey I had to complete with this team. By making the appropriate assessments, I think I have achieved the maximum, extraordinary things in terms of results. I leave this relatively young team, which may have a future. But I leave it at that. Everything has a beginning and an end. The end has come for me", was De Biasi's statement to "TuttoMercatoWeb.com".
This was the second national team that De Biasi has managed in his career, after Albania, where he stayed in the period 2011-2016, also qualifying for Euro 2016 in France.
De Biasi was in charge of Azerbaijan for 39 matches, recording 10 wins, eight draws and 21 losses. The most notable victories are that 3:0 against Sweden, 3:1 against North Macedonia and a 2:1 victory against Slovakia. (A2 Televizion)
