The Football Federation organized the next promotional event in the framework of the U-17 European Championship “Albania 2025” on Wednesday afternoon. The activity took place at the “House of Football” and brought together football fans, citizens of Tirana, committed volunteers and children from age groups.
This activity was attended by the President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, the Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, Endrit Hoxha, the ambassador of the European U-17 Championship, Valbona Selimllari, the former national football player and current Vllaznia player, Bekim Balaj, the national coach, Silvinjo, as well as members of the Albanian Football Federation Executive Committee, writes A2.
In his welcoming speech, President Duka stated that the organization of the European U-17 Championship in Albania is a historic moment for Albanian football and a testament to the organizational skills of the country and the Football Federation. He emphasized the emotion and satisfaction that this activity brings to everyone, highlighting the involvement of children, young people, football stars and the National Team, which is participating for the first time in such an event.
President Duka thanked all those who contributed to the preparation of the sports infrastructure, expressed his belief that the Albanian hospitality will leave good impressions on all participants and wished the National Team the best of success in the European Championship.
"It is a very special emotion, pleasure and happiness for me to see you on this field of the Albanian Football Association. On a field that we had truly dreamed of, to see the past, present and future of Albanian football. To see the stars of Albanian football, who undoubtedly express their satisfaction for this major event for Albania. I also see the perspective of football, all these children who have filled the field. Today, in a way, we officially start this important activity, the U-17 European Championship. A very important event for Albania, an event that once again confirms the organizational skills of Albania, the organizational skills of Albanian football, confirms the trust that European institutions have in our experience and our expertise to organize major events. This is not just a football championship, it is an opportunity for all the young people who will participate in it to express their talent, to express their emotion and why not, to create international friendship beyond their borders, the 7 teams that will participate, which will to join our National Team, which for the first time in history is participating in such an event. To achieve its organization, for us as a Federation, we can say medium or modest, a very voluminous work was needed to prepare the four stadiums that are already ready; "Arena Kombëtare", "Elbasan Arena", "Arena Egnatia", "Niko Dovana", 10 training fields, which for us truly constitute a voluminous work. For this I want to thank all those who have made the preparation of this infrastructure possible, and now we are truly at the right moment, perfect to start this European", said Duka.
"I am very sure that all the young footballers who will come to this European Championship, the officials who will participate, their observers, the fans who will follow, will remain satisfied with the Albanian hospitality. Our tradition of hospitality will remain in their memory and they will come again. I wish all the footballers who will come to truly enjoy themselves, I wish all of you to enjoy the European Championship in Albania, to support it and all together to have other even more beautiful events in the future. I wish our National Team much success in this European Championship, although all seven opponents are truly among the greatest in Europe.
