Juventus stops Roma's winning streak, points are shared at the Olimpico

Roma and Juventus failed to emerge victorious from their head-to-head clash for a ticket to Europe next season, drawing 1-1 in a dynamic and hard-fought match at the Olimpico. The result ends the red-yellow team's seven-game winning streak in the league.

Juventus started the game better and dominated possession in the first 20 minutes with over 80%, however Roma's organised defence did not allow for any space in the area. After a quiet period, the home side came close to scoring when Bryan Cristante was stopped by a decisive tackle from Pierre Kalulu.

The match was at a high tempo, with both teams hitting the post – Nico González with a header and Stephan El Shaarawy soon after. The goal came just before half-time when a clearance from the defence was turned into an assist for Manuel Locatelli, who volleyed a beautiful shot into the corner of the goal.

Claudio Ranieri made a bold move at half-time by taking Hummels off for a striker, and it paid off within five minutes. Eldor Shomurodov equalised with a quick reaction from Ndicka's header.

Roma tried hard for victory, but Juventus remained invincible and maintained fifth place. (A2 Televizion)
