Zambia's national team could be expelled from the World Cup after playing

Russia, Pakistan and Congo could be joined by Zambia as teams banned by FIFA.

A few days ago they played a match with Russia, suspended from all activities, while an official announcement has now been made that they may be expelled. In fact, the reasoning for such a possible decision has to do with the election of the head of the federation in this African country, as politics is influencing the election of the new President.

FIFA regulations prohibit third parties from influencing a country's football affairs, including government bodies. In February, Zambia Football Association President Andrew Kamanga was given a third term in office unopposed after eight other candidates were disqualified for failing to meet constitutional requirements.

However, after independent appeals were launched, the disqualifications of the four candidates were overturned.

The elections will take place between March 15 and 29, with a general meeting of the Zambian Football Federation scheduled for the latter date. (A2 Televizion)
