The prosecution starts the investigation, Egnatia's football player, Rafael Dwamena, died on the playing field

The Durrës Prosecutor's Office mainly started investigations into the death of the football player of the Egnatia football team, Rafael Dwamena.

Sources from the prosecution body inform that the medical staff of Egnatia, Rrogozhina and Kavaja hospitals have been questioned.

Also, part of the verifications on the causes of death of the Egnatia football player, will be the forensic expertise that will be prepared in Tirana.

Rafael Dwamena died in hospital, just minutes after collapsing on the pitch. The footballer was urgently transported to the Rrogozhina hospital.

Since the condition of the 28-year-old was quite serious, he was decided to be urgently transported to Tirana, but the ambulance was forced to stop at the Kavaja hospital, where Dwamena arrived without signs of life.

The footballer has had heart problems since 2020. Although doctors advised him to retire from his career as a footballer, Dwamena continued to play. (A2 Televizion)
