Doctor Mel Ostreni commented in the "Ditar" studio, on A2 CNN, the case of the tragic death of Egnatia's footballer, Rafael Dwamena.

Ostren suspected that the footballer had removed the defibrillator from his heart, but added that everything will be confirmed by the autopsy for the death of the 28-year-old.

"The player knew the problem and said himself that "God has given me life and God will take it away from me". But his biggest mistake, as I have heard from my sources, is that he had the defibrillator removed from his chest because it was giving him discomfort. I do not believe that he removed it in Albania. He may have removed it either in a European country or in his hometown," Ostreni said.

The Ghanaian had a rich career at several top European clubs, which went downhill when they found out about his health problems.

*In 2017 his club Zurich agreed with Premier League side Brighton for a transfer worth 11 million pounds.

*Medical visits confirmed heart problems, the deal fell through and Zurich terminated the contract due to unsuitable health conditions.

*In 2018, he became part of Levante. He was loaned to Real Zaragoza, but the cooperation was interrupted in 2019 due to heart problems.

* Even Levante interrupted the cooperation due to the health condition of the striker from Ghana.

*Dwamena was transferred to Vejle in Denmark, but this club also closed the contract due to heart complications.

*In 2021, he suffered a second collapse on the field, after he had placed a device in his heart. He was playing in the Austrian Cup with Blau Weiss Linz, who terminated his contract because he considered the player's activation to be life-threatening. His career in Austria was over.

*After a year without football, Raphael Dwamena returned to the field.

*On December 29, 2022, Egnatia presented the attacker, who in less than a year turned into the star of Albanian football.

*November 11, 2023 was fatal for Raphael Dwamena. In the 24th minute of the duel for the title, Egnatia - Partizani, collapsed on the field and nearly an hour after the event, he died in the hospital.
