Distria Krasniqi takes Kosovo to the top of Europe, defeating the judoka from Serbia

Distria Krasniqi has been declared the European champion in judo. She won the gold medal at the championship held in Podgorica, Montenegro.

The judoka from Kosovo defeated the Italian Odette Giufrrida in the final, to secure the gold medal for Kosovo in the up to 52 kilogram category.

Distria started the competition without a fight in the first round, while in the second round or in the 1/8 stage she had to deal with her Serbian opponent, Milica Nikolic, in the competitions up to 52 kilograms. In this fight, the judoka from Peja was significantly better, forcing her opponent Nikolic to make several mistakes until she received a red card.

In the semifinals, the pejania was again the better one, this time defeating the Spaniard Ariane Toro Soler, also by ippon to secure passage to the final. (A2 Televizion)
