Sport honors the best of 2024. At a gala evening of the Olympic Committee, all elite athletes were awarded trophies for achievements in various sports disciplines. From wrestling, which brought the first Olympic medals for Albania, to weightlifting, boxing, billiards, and on to Lara Kulturi, who for the first time gave Albania two podiums in the world.
Prime Minister Edi Rama was also present at this gala evening, who promised more rewards for elite athletes.
"By increasing the financial contribution to the Committee, we will further increase it. More champions in the years to come, which is a separate challenge for the budget because we have undertaken specific support for champions, but rest assured that we will stand with dignity and respond to all commitments made for all elite athletes", said Rama.
Sports will remain in the center of attention for 2025 as well. This is what the minister Ogerta Manastirliu and the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said.
