Göztepe Basketball Team has introduced its new mascot, K'ANKA, during the match against Kocaeli Kağıtspor in the Second Division of Turkish Basketball.
The match, which took place at the Atatürk Sports Complex in Bornova, was accompanied by tensions. During the match, K'ANKA had a clash with the referee, writes A2 CNN.
Efforts to calm the situation by the police were unsuccessful, and K'ANKA got into an argument with them. As a result of the events, the mascot was arrested and questioned by the authorities.
After the investigation, K'ANKA was released. Göztepe, returning to the court after a 20-year absence from the league, lost the game 78-70.
