A court in South Africa has decided to release from prison the former Paralympic champion, Oscar Pistorius, who 10 years ago shot dead his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
According to the decision of the directorate of prisons, Pistorius will officially leave the cell on January 5, 2024.
The reaction of Reeva Steenkamp's parents was immediate, and they said that the release of Pistorius is premature, and that the former athlete has not yet been rehabilitated.
"Rehabilitation requires one to engage honestly, with the full truth of their crime and its consequences. No one can claim to be remorseful unless they are able to fully face the truth," said June Steenkamp. (A2 Televizion)
