A 24-year-old man has been arrested by Tirana Police, accused of stealing at least 5 electric scooters in the capital, A2 CNN reports. The man in question, identified as AB, had a previous conviction for domestic violence.
"The services of Police Commissariat No. 3, in continuation of the work to crack down on criminal activity in the field of theft, based on complaints received from various citizens, regarding cases of theft of their skateboards, thanks to police intelligence, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Repeater". As a result of this operation, citizen AB, 24 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested," the police said.
From the investigative actions, it is suspected that this citizen, during the last few months, has committed 5 thefts in different areas of Tirana, specifically:
- On 28.01.2025, he is suspected of stealing the skateboard of citizen AM;
- On 28.01.2025, he is suspected of stealing the skateboard of citizen Xh. G.;
- On 28.01.2025, he is suspected of stealing the skateboard of citizen EI;
- On 27.01.2025, he is suspected of stealing the skateboard of citizen PS;
- On 24.01.2025, he is suspected of stealing the skateboard of citizen EK
Work continues to uncover other thefts that may have been committed by this citizen. The procedural materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
In the footage released by the authorities, the young man is seen committing some of the thefts, waiting for the owners of the vehicles to enter the market to shop, or when they had parked them on the street. (A2 Televizion)
