The Leonid Meteor Shower peaks between midnight and dawn, providing the perfect opportunity to spot a fading "star".

Astronomers say there could be up to 10 meteors visible every hour as Earth passes through the tail of Comet Tempel-Tuttle.

The Leonids, which will be active until November 30, have been described as the most "prolific" meteor shower of the year.

Weather permitting, they can be seen with the naked eye. "Stars" falling from the sky can be blocked by cloud cover or light pollution or moonlight.

The best place to see meteors may be away from big cities, where light pollution from street lights often ruins the spectacle. (A2 Televizion)
