A Harvard University physician, Dr. Saurabh Sethi, has issued an urgent warning about two everyday habits that many of us practice without thinking – but which, according to him, could be seriously damaging our brains and overall health.
In a viral video on TikTok, the gastroenterologist from California, with over 500 thousand followers, explained the major negative impact that constant phone use has during the day, writes A2 CNN.
According to him, excessive phone use releases dopamine in the brain, creating an addiction to quick rewards. “This makes it difficult to concentrate on tasks that require patience, like reading or solving problems,” he said.
He also added that social media negatively affects oxytocin – the hormone of feeling connected to others – increasing feelings of loneliness and anxiety. And finally, excessive screen time causes mental fatigue. “The brain gets tired from constant stimulation. The solution? Get out in nature, do some exercise, spend time with friends,” the doctor recommended.

But that's not all. In another video, Dr. Sethi warned about the dangers of keeping shoes indoors. He said that 96% of shoes contain fecal bacteria like E. coli, which can cause serious intestinal and urinary tract infections, especially in children who crawl and put objects in their mouths.
To avoid risks, he advises that shoes be removed before entering the house. (A2 Televizion)
