Elvis and Belina Pupa are accused in Australia of cultivating narcotic plants, A2 CNN reports. Australian media reports that Belina Pupa, 39, has appeared in court after being accused of planting 43 cannabis plants on her property in Ascot Park. While her husband, comedian Elvis Pupa, is reported to have fled the country.
According to Australian media , Belina appeared in court on Tuesday requesting that her movement not be restricted, as she must travel abroad for work. According to her, Ms. Pupa has businesses in Albania and the US, in addition to Australia.
"Ms. Pupa is a social worker, therapist and has clients all over the world, mainly in Albania, the USA and Australia. She travels up to 3 months every year to Albania. Therefore, we request that the security measure not restrict her movements, so that she can travel to Albania," her lawyer is quoted as saying before the court.
According to court documents published by Australian media, they planted cannabis from January to April this year. On Tuesday, prosecutors rejected Ms Pupa's request to move out of Australia, due to the serious charges and the fact that her husband is on the run.
