An estimated 2 million people packed the legendary Copacabana Beach to attend Lady Gaga's free concert last night in one of the biggest music events of the year in Brazil.

The concert, part of a promotional tour for her eighth album, Mayhem, was organized and financed by the city of Rio as part of efforts to revitalize the local economy. Brazilian authorities hope the super-event will bring in about $100 million in revenue for the local economy.

Fans known as "Little Monsters" have traveled from every corner of Brazil to see the pop icon up close.

The atmosphere of the concert has been described as electrifying and full of emotion.

The concert has also brought a massive security operation, with 5,000 police officers, metal detectors, drones and facial recognition cameras to guarantee order.

Lady Gaga follows in the footsteps of Madonna, who also held a free concert in Copacabana in May 2024, thus confirming the city's role as a major hub for superconcerts. (A2 Televizion)
