Sam Altman was fired Friday from his role as CEO of OpenAI, the company that created Chat Gpt. And now, the Albanian Mira Murati, head of technology in the company, will serve as the temporary manager.
The company announced that the decision was made after conducting a consultative review process and concluding that Altman had not been truthful in his communications with the board. Thus, as the company announced, confidence in its abilities to run OpenAI has declined.
Muarti, who became popular among Albanians after the Chat Gpt boom, has been a member of the OpenAI management team for five years. As stated in the company's announcement, Murati has played a critical role in the evolution of OpenAI into a global leader in Artificial Intelligence.
"Given her long tenure and close engagement with all aspects of the company, including her experience in AI governance and policy, the board believes she is uniquely qualified for this role and anticipates a smooth transition uninterrupted while it conducts a formal search for a permanent CEO," the company's announcement further reads.
