A helicopter that was engaged in extinguishing fires in the Aspropyrgos area in Greece made an emergency landing at sea, in the Gulf of Elefsina shortly after 2:00 PM today.
The helicopter was trying to fill its tanks with water, and behind it, at a higher altitude, was a second helicopter waiting to carry out the same water supply process.
The helicopter, which was leased from the Greek state, was operating to extinguish a fire that broke out in the Imeros Topos area, in an area with low vegetation, but for reasons still unknown, it was forced to make an emergency landing.
The three people on board are in good health and have been pulled from the sea.
A coast guard is seen in a speedboat rescuing the pilots who were swimming away and the third person on board the helicopter, who were then transferred to a Coast Guard ship that rushed to the scene. (A2 Televizion)
