Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is on a visit to the US, where he intends to receive Donald Trump's blessing to go to Moscow on May 9, when Victory Day over Nazism is marked.
But another issue on which he desperately seeks American understanding is Kosovo. Speaking to reporters, the Serbian head of state said that there can be no double standards and the UN Charter must be applied not only to Ukraine but also to Serbia.
He stated that in a conversation with Rudy Giuliani, an associate of Donald Trump, he had emphasized two things to him: " You cannot have a double-edged sword, say that you are in favor of respecting public international law and the UN Charter, and then bomb Serbia, occupy 13 or 14 percent of Serbia's territory. And when something similar happens in Ukraine, then it is a crime."
"You cannot continue to say in Sarajevo that Kosovo is independent and then say that Dodik is a criminal, who wants something else...", Vučić emphasized to journalists.
He further added that he would talk about this with Trump, with whom he claims he will hold two meetings, while reiterating his position that Kosovo belongs to Serbia. (A2 Televizion)
