A serious incident has occurred in North Macedonia where 50 people have lost their lives and many others have been injured as a result of a fire at a discotheque in Kocani.
Local media reports that the incident occurred at around 3:00 a.m. on March 16, at the “Koçani Pulse” nightclub. There were about 1,500 young people in the disco, attending a concert by a famous local band.
It is reported that the cause of the fire is suspected to have been pyrotechnics that were used inside the premises of the bar to celebrate.
Currently, there are no official details on how the incident occurred, but what is being announced by the Ministry of Interior is that several people have been arrested who were related to the organization of this private party.
It is reported that due to the numerous victims, all official visits to Skopje have now been canceled, while the Minister of Interior is already staying in Kocani and other politicians are expected to arrive during the day.
