Vucic will publish the documents of the reconstruction of the station in Novi

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has said that he will publish all the documents related to the reconstruction of the railway station in Novi Sad, after the fatal accident in November.

As Vučić gave a speech on the issue on Wednesday night in his office in Belgrade, several hundred students and citizens gathered in front of the Serbian Presidency building, chanting against him.

The Serbian president said he will release 195 documents related to construction work at the station where a shelter collapse left 15 people dead on November 1.

Regarding the demands of protesting students, who have blocked the work of some state faculties, Vucic said that all the detained students have been "released".

"If they are punished for rioting, I will make a decision to pardon them," said Vucic.

He emphasized that he has asked the Speaker of the Assembly of Serbia, Ana Bërnabić, to set the session for the change of the Government in the Assembly on the agenda.

Vucic also emphasized that a monument to the victims will be erected at the site of the accident at the railway station in Novi Sad.

Speaking about the protest in front of the Presidency building, Vucic said that "political demonstrations" are being held outside, which are happening despite the fact that he is giving them "good news".

He also said that he expects the students to return to classes after, according to him, their demands have been met.

Vucic claimed that in the last four years, 426 million euros have been invested in "pressure groups", who, according to him, want to "change Serbia and overthrow the government".

Several hundred citizens and activists gathered in front of the Serbian Presidency building in Belgrade on December 11, during Vučić's announced speech in that building.

Activists of the informal student organization "Borba" announced this rally on the Instagram social network, with the message: "The President speaks about the student blockades, come before the Presidency so that our voice is heard."

Dozens of state faculties in Serbia have been locked down after attacks on students during protests related to the deadly accident at the railway station in Novi Sad.

Students who blocked four state universities in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac demand, among other things, the publication of secret documentation for the reconstruction of the Railway Station in Novi Sad.

They also demand the dismissal of charges against students arrested and detained during the protests that followed the accident. (A2 Televizion)
