"Contacts with President Donald Trump's team are continuing, but it is too early to expect concrete results, due to the damage to US-Russia relations under Joe Biden's leadership."

These are the words of the Kremlin, which seems to be trying to keep the door open for dialogue with Trump, but without offering anything concrete. After the meeting of the US special envoy Steve Witkoff with President Vladimir Putin, Trump said that the discussions are going well at the moment but that there comes a point when you either have to endure or shut up.

Hours after Russia fired ballistic missiles into Ukraine, causing dozens of casualties, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said talks were going well but ruled out any positive developments at the current point.

Asked whether Putin and Trump would meet in the near future, Peskov said the two superpowers were walking together, very patiently, along this path, but that restoring relations would require a lot of work. (A2 Televizion)
