In the search for the ultimate antidote to combat drones on the modern battlefield, there is no shortage of innovative ideas. In Britain, for example, they successfully used a radio frequency-guided laser weapon to neutralize over 100 drones at the same time during a test conducted in West Wales.

Developed by Thales UK in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, “RF DEW”, codenamed RapidDestroyer, represents a major advance in the fight against drones.

Using invisible radio waves, the system disables drones by disrupting or destroying their internal electronics. Unlike traditional anti-drone solutions, which typically attack targets individually, RapidDestroyer can neutralize entire groups at once.

In the latest exercise, it proved capable of defeating two incoming drone swarms at the same time, marking the largest countermeasures test ever conducted by the British military.

With a maximum effective range of 1 kilometer, the system is not only powerful, but also extremely economical. Each shot costs only 0.12 euros, making it much more economical than missile-based air defense systems.

Although not yet approved for operational deployment, the weapon is being considered a future cornerstone of battlefield defense as it destroys up to 100 drones at once.

As threats from unmanned aerial vehicles escalate, the British RapidDestroyer could become essential for protecting troops and infrastructure in tomorrow's wars. (A2 Televizion)
