Senators say they are willing to work through the night to pass a government budget in line with President Donald Trump's agenda.
The Senate will debate a $340 billion package that President Trump's team says is needed for the massive deportation efforts of illegal immigrants and security measures that the Republican agenda sets out.
Through a marathon of votes, senators will have their say for hours on each amendment, using various political tactics, mainly from Democrats, in an attempt to stall the approval of the package.
Even if the package is approved by the Senate, it still needs to be merged with that of the House of Representatives, which is preparing a bill that includes about $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and up to $2 trillion in less budget spending./ VOA (A2 Televizion)
