Elections are taking place today in three major European countries, writes A2 CNN.
Here's a summary of what each country is voting on:
Romania: It's the second round of the presidential election. Voters are choosing between nationalist George Simion and the liberal mayor of Bucharest, Nicusor Dan. The election follows the first round, which took place on May 4, 2025.
Poland: There are also Presidential elections there, but they are the first round. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, there will be a runoff between the two leading candidates on June 1, 2025.
Portugal: There are general elections taking place there, for the 230 seats in the unicameral Parliament. Usually, the leader of the largest party after the elections becomes prime minister (so more or less the same formula as in Albania). (A2 Televizion)
