Russia plans to conduct an intercontinental ballistic missile launch to intimidate Ukraine and the West tonight, according to Ukraine's military intelligence agency.

According to foreign media, citing the GUR agency, the launch will take place from the Sverdlovsk region of Russia.

The agency also added that the flight range for the missile was more than 6,200 miles, writes A2 CNN.

A statement from GUR said: "In order to demonstratively exert pressure and intimidate Ukraine, as well as EU and NATO member states, the aggressor state of Russia intends to conduct a 'training and combat' launch of the RS-24 intercontinental ballistic missile from the Yars complex."

There was no immediate comment from Russia on the matter, writes A2 CNN.

Russia does not answer questions about its plans to test nuclear missiles, the details of which it classifies as a military secret, although it issues statements after such launches. (A2 Televizion)
