Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Pope Leo XIV after his inauguration mass.
According to foreign media, the Pope has offered the Vatican as a place to host peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.
"The authority and voice of the Holy See can play an important role in ending this war," Zelenskyy said, writes A2 CNN.
"We thank the Vatican for its willingness to serve as a platform for direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
"We are ready for dialogue in any format for the sake of tangible results. We appreciate the support for Ukraine and the clear voice in defense of a just and lasting peace," he continued, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
