The flag of the Syrian opposition was raised today in Moscow, after the overthrow of Bashar Al Assad's regime.
"It is 'extraordinary' to see the Syrian opposition flag flying at the Embassy in Moscow, given that it represents the very forces that Russia has been trying to destroy for nearly a decade," says Sky News Moscow correspondent Ivor Bennett.
There has still been no sighting of Bashar al-Assad since the rebellion, but the Kremlin has issued "secret comments" suggesting that reports that he had been granted asylum in Russia were correct.
"That wouldn't be a surprise, given that Moscow has done so much in the last decade to keep it in power," Bennett said.
"What is certain is that he is not in the Syrian embassy", he added further, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
