Premature babies from Al-Shifa hospital head to Egypt by ambulance

At least 28 babies are being transported today by ambulance to the Rafah crossing from where they will then be sent to Egyptian hospitals. The news was announced by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

"Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance teams have just left the Emirates hospital in Rafah to transport 28 injured premature babies to the Rafah crossing in preparation for their transfer to hospitals in Egypt for treatment," he said . PRCS in a statement to CNN.

According to the announcement, the transfer of the babies is being done in coordination with the World Health Organization and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

We recall that Al-Shifa, the largest hospital in Gaza, has become a hot spot in Israel's war in the besieged enclave.

The Israeli military claims the facility is being used by Hamas as a shield for its operations and raided the hospital last Wednesday. On the other hand, Hamas and hospital officials have denied Israel's claims. (A2 Televizion)
