Since the early hours of this morning, the Livorno Carabinieri have executed 11 arrest warrants with imprisonment in the provinces of Nuoro, Pisa and Bologna against individuals, all of Sardinian origin and aged between 33 and 54, who are believed to be responsible for the attack on two armored vans that occurred on March 28.
The attack took place in broad daylight on the SS1 Aureliak road, in the municipality of San Vincenzo, and the armed "commandos" managed to steal 3 million euros and escape.
The arrested are accused, to varying degrees, of aggravated robbery, possession and keeping in a public place of various combat weapons, combat ammunition, explosives and common firearms, as well as aggravated theft and receiving stolen goods.
The investigations allowed the determination of the relationships and relevant activities carried out by the suspects (some material executors and others with support functions), who turned out to be experts in the use of weapons (including weapons of war) and explosives, with several months of preparatory activities and the finding of vehicles used to block the money transport vans.
A total of over 300 carabinieri participated in the rapid operation of the Livorno carabinieri, supported by the competent territorial force and the Special Intervention Group, Helicopter Squadrons. (A2 Televizion)
