A tourist risks paying a very high price for his spontaneous decision to throw a large stone from a cliff into a canyon in the Picos de Europa National Park, in northern Spain.
In the video released by Cares Trail, the unidentified man is still seen picking up a rock and throwing it into the stream, while getting excited by the sound that confirms his contact with the water.
When the video was posted on social media, it was noticed by the Spanish Civil Protection, which launched an investigation into the incident, with a spokesperson stating that " this action could cause serious problems for the perpetrator ."
Throwing such a stone can cost the person who did it a fine of 5,000 to 200,000 euros.
