After condemning Russia's Christmas Day attack, US President Joe Biden has asked his defense team to continue arms shipments to Ukraine.
According to foreign media, Russia launched dozens of missiles and drones at Ukraine's energy system and some of its cities yesterday, described as "inhumane" by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The American president said that he has already responded by reaffirming Washington's commitment to the defense of Ukraine.
"The purpose of this vicious attack was to cut off the Ukrainian people's access to heating and electricity during the winter and to jeopardize the security of its grid," he said, writes A2 CNN.
Washington has provided $175 billion in aid to Ukraine over the course of the war, but the future of US funding is in doubt, with President-elect Donald Trump questioning their level of involvement and suggesting that Europe should keep more the burden.
But Keith Kellogg, who is Trump's pick for special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, criticized the attack on what should be a "time of peace," adding that "the United States is more determined than ever to bring peace to region". (A2 Televizion)
