Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered a rare glimpse inside his private Kremlin residence, in an unprecedented video released by Russian state media.
In the footage, he is shown welcoming Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin and inviting him to his personal apartment, decorated with golden mirrors, luxurious chandeliers and elegant furniture.
Inside the apartment are a dark-wood-paneled library, a white piano, a private home chapel and bedrooms. Putin said he often spends nights there and holds informal meetings with international leaders, such as Chinese President Xi Jinping.
This discovery comes in stark contrast to the difficult conditions in which Russian soldiers are found in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, investigative media has also documented the renovation of Putin's palace in Gelendzhik, worth over £1 billion, turning it into an ultra-luxurious complex with a religious altar, personal chapel and facilities tailored to the Russian leader's taste. (A2 Televizion)
