US President Donald Trump announced new tariffs on Indian goods, also focusing on his relations with Russia and its former president, Dmitry Medvedev.
He accused India of having too high tariffs and close ties with Russia. Therefore, from August 1, he is introducing a 25 percent tariff on Indian exports, with additional penalties for purchases of Russian arms and oil.
"I don't care what India does with Russia. As far as I'm concerned, they can destroy their dead economies together. We have done very little business with India, their tariffs are very high, among the highest in the world. Also, Russia and the US barely do business with each other. Let it stay that way. Tell Medvedev, the failed former president of Russia, who thinks he's still president, to be careful with his words. He is entering very dangerous territory," Trump wrote on his Truth social network.
The US currently does not share a smooth relationship with Russia, as the White House announced on Tuesday that it would impose tariffs within 10 days if they do not agree to stop the war in Ukraine.
"Trump is playing an ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days or 10... He should remember two things: Russia is not Israel, or even Iran. Every new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don't go the way of Sleepy Joe," Medvedev replied on the X platform.
