Israel's defense minister admitted for the first time that Israel killed Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July.
Israel Katz made the comments in a speech during which he vowed to target the leaders of the Houthi movement in Yemen, which is also supported by Iran.
Haniyeh was killed in a building while standing in the Iranian capital in an attack widely attributed to Israel.
The 62-year-old was widely considered the overall leader of Hamas and played a key role in negotiations aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
After his assassination, Hamas named Jahya Sinwar, one of the main architects of the October 7 attacks, as the group's leader.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed in a statement to the media that progress has been made towards reaching an agreement on a cease-fire in Gaza with Hamas, but did not give a clear deadline for when the fighting will end. (A2 Televizion)
