Rogue Drones, London: Russia uses them to disorient the Ukrainian army

The British military has been made aware of another model of warfare that Russia is currently using. According to British information, German media reports, Russia is increasingly using drones with little or no explosive charges. Britain's Ministry of Defense said the hoaxes were intended to overwhelm Ukraine's air defenses.

Between September and November, 50 to 60 percent of drones shot down were probably just "hoaxes," London said. They are smaller and cheaper than Iran's Shahed kamikaze drones, which Russia uses extensively. Their use is intended to saturate and confuse Ukrainian radars, depleting air defenses. "Some of the decoy systems are probably equipped with a small explosive charge of up to 5 kilograms, which ultimately makes them no less dangerous if they hit a target," the British ministry noted.

The new drone has been used in recent days by Russia in its attack on Ukraine. Ukraine's air defense reported swarms of drones flying from different directions. The targets of the combat drones were initially not visible due to the constantly changing flight directions. With this tactic, the Russian military is trying to overwhelm the Ukrainian air defense system.

Russia is trying to destroy the Ukrainian population with ever-increasing drone and missile attacks. Many of the attacks are directed against Ukraine's energy infrastructure, with the aim of disrupting the supply of electricity - including water and central heating.

Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened retaliation after the Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian Volga city of Kazan. "Anyone who tries to destroy something in our country will face multiple destruction in his country and still regret what he tried to do in our country," the Russian president said in a televised video conference.
