Cambodia has called for an "immediate" ceasefire with Thailand as the death toll has risen to more than 30, including civilians. Cambodia's ambassador to the UN said his country had called for an "unconditional" ceasefire. Thailand has not commented publicly on the proposal, and has rejected third-party mediation.
At least 32 soldiers and civilians in the conflict have been killed and nearly 200,000 others have been displaced in the two Southeast Asian countries, which accuse each other of firing first.
On Saturday, Thailand's military said the Cambodians launched attacks in a new area near the coast in the south but were pushed back by the navy.
The two countries have separate influences, with Thailand supported by the US, while Cambodia is supported by China. (A2 Televizion)
