Kremlin: Glad that the US understands Putin's stance on NATO expansion

Russia has said it is pleased that Vladimir Putin's position on Ukraine's NATO membership is being understood in Washington, D.C.

According to foreign media, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the comments after Trump's envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that Russia's concerns about Ukraine's potential NATO membership are "right."

Kellogg said the US did not want to see Ukraine in the military alliance, when asked by ABC News about reports that Russia wants a written promise not to expand NATO eastward to include Ukraine and other former Soviet republics.

"It's a fair concern," Kellogg said, writes A2 CNN.

"Ukraine's entry into NATO is not on the table and we are not the only country that says this. You know, I can probably give you four other countries in NATO that are against it and it takes 32 out of 32 countries to allow you to enter NATO," he further concluded. (A2 Televizion)
